John Schuyler helps
clients gain competence in risk and economic decision analysis and in
project risk management. He established an independent training and
consulting practice in 1988, focusing on project and corporate economic
analysis and on decision policy.
The Decision
Precision®trademark identifies John's evaluation process and
educational services. He has over 40 years business and engineering
experience in training, consulting, analysis, and management. His
industry experience mostly in the petroleum industry and also includes
mining, utilities, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, information
technology, finance, professional services, retail, and
government.
His
short courses deal principally with capital
investments, corporate planning, engineering design and project
management decisions under uncertainty. He is associated with
PetroSkills, LLC for whom he has presented his 3- to 6-day course,
Petroleum Risk and Decision Analysis, Advanced
Decision Analysis with Portfolio and Project Modeling, and
custom variations more than 300 times. John has trained in 36 countries
on six continents. He is the author of Risk
and Decision Analysis in Projects 3.1 and is the revisions author of 2nd and 3.0 editions of Paul Newendorp's classic, Decision Analysis for Petroleum
Exploration. John frequently presents short talks and
workshops for professional organizations. He has written over 45
articles, conference papers, and handbook chapters published in the

evaluation engineer for Security Pacific Bank (then U.S. 6th
largest). Appraised collateral properties for approximately half of
a $2 billion energy loan portfolio. Developed automated evaluation
tools and practices.

Cities Service Co.'s Petrochemicals Division. Led development of an
information systems plan and a grass-roots data processing
organization.
- Senior Management Consultant with a
national accounting firm. Information systems planning and design;
operational reviews; EDP auditing.

Cities Service Oil Company. Capital project evaluations; budgets;
corporate plans.
